HOW WILL WE FULFILL OUR PURPOSE?
In order to provide subsidized care to financially disadvantaged pet owners, we will first need to establish a revenue stream.  The primary way we do that is to provide a large volume of service at reasonable prices to pet owners who do not require subsidy and who may be in a position to further support us financially.  Second,  we gladly accept donations from the community.  Third, we need to obtain grants to help us cover our start up costs and provide periodic financial support for spay and neuter programs.  Fourth, we hope to implement some additional ongoing fund raising projects.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
  1. Utilize our clinic's services if you have pets, or suggest us to your friends who do.
  2. Donate.
  3. Talk about this one-of-a-kind venture and email our web site to everybody you know.
  4. Keep St. Francis Animal Hospital in your prayers.

HOW YOU PAY OR DONATE
We currently accept cash, debit cards, Visa, MasterCard and checks.  Checks for services (not donations) will require a driver's license as we utilize Telecheck for authorization.

HOW OFTEN DOES MY PET NEED VACCINES?
Puppies and kittens should start vaccinations as early as 6 weeks.  They receive boosters every 2-3 weeks until 4 months of age.  During adulthood, cats and dogs may be vaccinated every 1-3 years.  The old school of thought was to necessarily vaccinate every year.  That is no longer the recommendation in most cases.  As of July, 2004 a new ordinance passed for rabies vaccination in Jacksonville.  Now, a rabies shot is only required every 3 years after the pet's first adult boosters.  However, you must still obtain a license every year.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY PET VISIT THE VET?
It is best to have a check up one or two times a year, even if your pet seems healthy and even if you don't update vaccines every year.  Remember, pets age much faster than people.  Many medical conditions can be treated more successfully with early intervention.

HOW MUCH OF MY PAYMENT IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
You may deduct 100% of your donation if no services are received.  So, if you stop by and give us a $100 donation one day, and Fido just comes in and says "Hi" to us, you can deduct $100.00.

If you bring Fido in for a visit and the bill is $40.00, but you generously write a check for $100.00, then $60.00 is deductible.

If you bring Fido for a visit and the bill is $40.00 and you write a check for $40.00, then that payment is not deductible.
